The Iliad
Long before modern novels, historical epics and fantasy literature, there was The Iliad.
Composed nearly three thousand years ago and traditionally attributed to Homer, this monumental poem chronicles a brief but decisive period during the Trojan War, revealing not only the violence of conflict but also the humanity of those who wage it.
As Greek and Trojan armies clash beneath the walls of Troy, legendary warriors seek glory that will outlast their mortal lives. Yet behind every victory lies grief, and behind every triumph stands the certainty that even the greatest heroes cannot escape fate.
Kings compete for power, alliances fracture, friendships are tested and families endure unimaginable loss while the Olympian gods manipulate events according to their own rivalries and desires.
Far more than a military epic, The Iliad explores timeless questions about pride, justice, leadership, mortality and the true meaning of honor. Its characters remain among the most memorable ever created, not because they are invincible, but because they struggle with emotions that continue to resonate across cultures and generations.
From its breathtaking battle scenes to its moments of extraordinary tenderness and reflection, The Iliad offers an unforgettable reading experience that has shaped Western literature for centuries.
Whether discovering Homer for the first time or returning to one of history's greatest classics, readers will find a work whose power remains undiminished-a story of heroes, humanity and the enduring consequences of war.

Homer
