Rosa Vellucci
Rosa Vellucci
Rosa Marchetti is twenty-two years old and she has just inherited forty thousand dollars of bad debt, a funeral bill, and a marriage contract her father signed eleven years ago in someone else's handwriting. Tommaso Casazza is fifty-one. He was at her christening. He is not going to pretend either of those facts isn't true. What he is going to do is marry her, move her into a house with more locks than rooms, and put her to work keeping his ledger. She thinks she's a hostage. Then the couriers start dying in the order they sat at her wedding. Somewhere in the columns, Rosa is holding proof that the man she married has been protecting her from his own family for over a decade, and the man who wrote the contract is still sitting at the table.
