Nora Whitfield swore she'd never set foot in Coldbrook again. She made it twelve years. Now she's the new physical therapist for the Coldbrook Frost, and the first player on her table is the one she left behind. Rhett Sandoval is thirty-two, held together by tape and spite, and he has not forgiven her for anything. He says so in front of the entire locker room. She takes the job anyway. He doesn't want her help. He doesn't want her in this town. He definitely doesn't want her knowing that his knee is worse than anyone has told the GM, or why he never left Coldbrook the way she did. But the season is long, the ice is bad, and the boy who waited two years for her is still here - older, angrier, and no better at letting go. She didn't come back for him. That's what she keeps telling herself.
