Later in 1889 richtte zij de Sociaaldemocratische Partij van het Koninkrijk Polen en Litouwen op. Holst geeft een realistische en gemoedelijke beschrijving van het bijzondere leven van Rosa Luxemburg dat op tragische wijze tot zijn einde kwam. Een interessante biografie voor ieder die geïnteresseerd is in de ontwikkeling van het socialisme in het begin van de vorige eeuw. Henriëtte Roland Holst (1869-1952) was een dichteres en socialiste uit Amsterdam. Ze schreef meerdere dichtwerken waaronder 'Sonnetten en Verzen in Terzinen'. Holst was daarnaast zeer actief bij de Sociaal-Democratische Arbeidspartij waarbij ze aandacht vroeg voor de erbarmelijke omstandigheden van arbeiders.
