Together with Marilla, Anne also decides to take in a pair of young twins, Davy and Dora, whose arrival brings even more joyful chaos into their lives.
Anne of Avonlea is not only a story about the amusing adventures of a teenager, but also about growing up and taking responsibility for loved ones.
The novel was first published in 1909 - just one year after Anne of Green Gables, which became an instant success, much to the surprise of Lucy Maud Montgomery herself. The publisher quickly signed the author for more books.
