audiobook cover of Missing, by Monty Marsden
Saga Egmont | 28 September 2022

The search for a missing child reveals she is not the only one... In a little village in Lombardy, it's a cold November morning when Ami steps out of her house to go to school... and never comes back. As soon as her father raises the alarm, a frantic search begins. The investigation is led by Police Commissioner Sensi. His men immediately find a trail to follow, but it soon proves to lead nowhere. Three months later, Police Commissioner Sensi decides to visit Dr Claps, an old friend and a renowned criminologist, who guesses from his first few words the real reason for the visit. It's not just about Ami; she's not the only little girl to have disappeared. What people are saying about MISSING: Full of twists and turns, red herrings and an ending I never guessed' 'Kept me reading to the small hours, very enjoyable' 'I am not sure I am sufficiently experienced at reviewing to actually do this book justice, it was brilliant' A gripping serial killer thriller for fans of Angela Marsons and Jeffrey Deaver. Monty Marsden, a Tuscan by birth, grew up in Milan, where he studied medicine and still works. He lives in the province of Bergamo, with his wife and four children.

ebook cover of Summary of David Baddiel's Jews Don´t Count, by Everest Media
Everest Media LLC | 1 July 2022

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The author Charlie Kaufman wrote a novel called Antkind, which was reviewed in the British newspaper the Observer in August 2020. The reviewer, Holly Williams, criticized the book because the narrator operated from a white-male-cis-het perspective. But the narrator was Jewish, and there was no mention of his Jewishness or the issue of Jewishness in the book. #2 The modern cultural conversation about reassessing great writers from the past in the light of current political understanding is not always negative. In the case of the early twentieth-century novelist Edith Wharton, for example, some have recently argued that she has been overlooked in the canon. #3 The issue is not that Wharton wrote things that are anti-Semitic, but that she did not include what her characters or herself would say about Jews. #4 We live in a time where politics is constantly injected into everything. This was evident in a recent BBC documentary about the drama strand Play for Today, which focused on plays that expressed radical politics and social issues.
