1. Personal Data Protection

Our website mysmartbook.fr (the “Website”) collects personal data in order to create and maintain customer records, in accordance with applicable regulations, of which you must be informed and, where required, subject to your consent.

Under applicable data protection regulations, personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier or to one or more factors specific to that person’s identity (such as surname, first name, email address, location data, identity card number, IP address or other data enabling the person concerned to be identified). Anonymous information and information relating solely to legal entities do not constitute personal data.

Certain personal data concerning you is necessary for the creation and operation of a Customer Account, the management and processing of your orders and, more generally, our commercial relationship with you. This data is also retained for security purposes, to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and to enable us to improve and personalise the services we provide and the information we send you:

The categories of data retained vary depending on these purposes and on your own requests. This data is intended for our teams but may be transmitted to our suppliers, contractual partners and processors who participate in or contribute to these purposes (authors, publishers, administrators, IT service providers, banking or financial institutions).

Under the conditions laid down by the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as amended, individuals have rights of access, rectification, restriction, portability and erasure in relation to their personal data.

Data subjects also have the right, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of personal data based on legitimate interests, as well as the right to object to direct marketing.

They also have the right to define general and specific instructions concerning how the rights referred to above are to be exercised after their death. These rights may be exercised by email at: contact@mysmartbook.fr (with “GDPR” in the subject line), or by post to our registered office, marked “For the attention of the Data Protection Officer / GDPR”, specifying your surname, first name, email address, postal address and, where applicable, your Customer Account reference.

If the email address used to make the request differs from the address held in our records, a signed copy of your identity card or a valid passport may be required in order to verify your identity. As of the date of this Policy, the Data Protection Officer is Mr Emmanuel MARIE-CARDINE.
