THE LAKE HOUSE
Ten years ago, five college friends watched a sixth drown in a lake and quietly agreed to call it an accident.
Now Danny's mother wants his ashes scattered at the same lake house where he died, and none of them can say no.
It's supposed to be one weekend. A goodbye.
Then someone finds a note on the kitchen table: It wasn't an accident. I know.
The storm rolls in. The bridge floods. The boat is destroyed, the cars won't start, and the phones die one by one — until there's no way out, and no way to keep pretending the past stayed where they left it.
By morning, one more person from that night ten years ago will be dead. And the four who are left will have to decide what's more dangerous: the truth, or each other.
THE LAKE HOUSE is a twisty, character-driven thriller about the lies good people tell to protect the ones they love — and what happens when a decade of silence finally runs out of road.
Five friends. One drowned secret. Ten years of silence and one weekend to pay for it.
When Danny's mother asks his old friends to scatter his ashes at the lake house where he died, none of them can refuse. But within hours of arriving, a note appears on the kitchen table it wasn't an accident, I know and a storm seals them in with no way out and nowhere left to hide from the truth.
Taut, twisty, and devastatingly human, THE LAKE HOUSE asks how long a lie can hold before the people carrying it break.
They buried the truth ten years ago. This weekend, it's coming back up for air.
